On May 10th, and framed as an activity of World FM Day, the Professional Action Commission of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia ( COEIC) and the Catalan Association of Facility Management (ACFM) organized the event “Audits and reviews in the world of Facility Management. Essential tool for effectiveness and sustainability in companies” at the COEIC.

This edition of the #worldfmday, was celebrated with this event where the #ACFM was born, at the Col·legi d'Enginyers Industrials de Catalunya ( COEIC).

In the world of Facility Management, both in buildings and in the industrial field, it is clear that there are many points to optimize. The day-to-day in companies often does not allow us to take a step back, see the general situation of the operations and think about how we can improve and optimize them. More urgent than ever in the current economic context, we must think about implementing audits and reviews in order to detect improvements and also to comply with the necessary ISO recommendations.

In a round table format, the importance of audits and reviews in building and industrial facilities was discussed. It was found that these are essential tools for the effectiveness and sustainability of companies, and the basis for outlining the strategy to ensure the optimal life cycle of assets. A database, focused on #DATA, and on its exploitation in an integrated manner with the rest.

The discussion was moderated by Marta Guasch, President of the Professional Action Commission (COEIC) and included with the participation of

  • Marc Blasco, CEO, Simbioe Facility Management;
  • Xavier Abelló Álvarez, Head of the Infrastructure and General Services Area, Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC);
  • Jordi Oliveres, Head of Engineering and Maintenance, Kern Pharma;
  • Carlos Valera, CEO, MYC Facility Industrial

We celebrated the anniversary (#worldmday) with a good cocktail and #networking, seasoned with the #facilitymanagers who accompanied us.

We thank Marc Blasco, Xavier Abelló, Jordi Oliveres and Carles Valera, for their close collaboration, the time dedicated and sharing their points of view for the development of this day. On the other hand, we also want to thank the COEIC and its Professional Action Commission for their excellent attention and support to our conference.
