The Industry 4.0 or era of digitalization implies a new revolution that combines advanced production techniques and operations with intelligent technologies that will be integrated into organizations, people and assets.
This revolution is marked by the emergence of new technologies such as Internet of Things (IOT), Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain, among others, and the corresponding incorporation of these in order to streamline the processes and operations of companies.
The first step that must be done in this process of digital transformation in which we are immersed is the previous study of the current technological trends of the sector, in order to know in which context our organizations are located and to be able to identify which technologies are best suited to our needs to invest in them, with the ultimate goal of adding value to our business.
Thus, the Catalan Association of Facility Management, with the intention of transmitting to its associates the steps to follow to achieve an effective digital transformation of their companies, has created a Commission of New Technologies in order to carry out an exhaustive study of the technologies emerging companies that have a more direct application in the Facility Management sector and know the potential impacts and benefits of their implementation.
